Gucci Launches Capsule Collection With Artist Unskilled Worker

Gucci has developed a new capsule collection in collaboration with British artist Helen Downie; better known by her artist name Unskilled Worker.

The 40-piece collection includes fashion items of clothing, shoes, handbags, silk articles and accessories comprising of the classic GG Marmont shoulder bag by Gucci adorned with butterflies and poppies, handbag with bamboo handle and portrait painting, Hoodie with a drawn portrait, signature "L'Aveugle par Amour" shirt, Brooch with crystal application and a Maxi skirt with floral print.

Together, the collection combines the designs of Creative Director Alessandro Michele, and the art of Helen Downie which reveal a witty and playful spirit that perfectly suits the contemporary and eclectic Romanticism of the Maison. The images used are a combination of portraits and floral patterns produced by the artist, in her characteristic and expressive style.

The collaboration between Gucci and Unskilled Worker came about after Michele discovered her work on Instagram when he launched a collaborative series. He invited her to participate in Gucci's 'No longer / Not Yet' art exhibition in Shanghai.

The Gucci x Unskilled Worker collection will be available from October 11 exclusively on gucci.com. Items will be shipped in artfully designed packs for the occasion, each decorated with illustrations by Unskilled Worker.
