Peter Dundas Exits Roberto Cavalli

Peter Dundas is the latest in the list of creative directors to leave their positions after only a relatively brief period of time in the role. The Norwegian designer stepped down from the role of creative director of Italian fashion House Roberto Cavalli on Wednesday.

Dundas who joined Roberto Cavalli in March 2015 made the announcement after just one and a half year in the role. 'I want to thank Roberto Cavalli and the Group for this valuable experience and I wish them the best in their future endeavors,' Dundas said of his exit in a statement. 'I am especially grateful to the ateliers and the teams who participated in this adventure.'

'On behalf of Roberto Cavalli and our shareholders, we thank Peter Dundas for his contribution to the brand, and we wish him well for his future,' said Gian Giacomo Ferraris, Cavalli's chief executive. 'As Roberto Cavalli goes through a period of transformation, the design team will carry on and the appointment of a new creative director will be made in due course.'

Dundas' first collection for the brand was shown in September 2015 while the spring / summer 2017 collection which was presented during the recent Milan Fashion Week marks his last. Before he became Cavalli's creative director Dundas worked as head designer for the label between 2002 and 2005 working directly with Roberto Cavalli himself. In 2008 he became creative director at Emilio Pucci.

Cavalli has not yet named a successor.
