Mariah Carey Is Engaged!

Mariah Carey and James Packer are officially engaged.

The Australian billionaire businessman who is worth around $3.5 billion and owns a casino empire, proposed to Mariah in her hometown on the 21st January with a 35-carat diamond and platinum engagement ring according to E! Online. Packer called on jewelry designer Wilfredo Rosado, a friend of Carey's for more than 25 years, to create the showstopping ring.

Carey and Packer have been friends since 2014, are said to have a 'connection that is unparalleled' and 'have wanted to spend every moment together' since becoming close pals. They met at a movie premiere in Aspen and started dating last summer and were first spotted on holidays in Capri, before traveling to Sardinia, Israel and Ibiza. It is the third marriage for both of them. Packer is father of three having been married twice before and has been linked to a slew of Australian models in the past, including Miranda Kerr.

No wedding date has been set yet.
