Hedi Slimane presents Haute Couture collection at Paris fashion week

Hedi Slimane showed his first haute couture show for Saint Laurent at the Paris Fashion Week.

The creative director who is rumored to depart, surprised everyone by presenting his new collection to a selected audience of VIPs who sat on chairs engraved with their names.

The presentation was a silent one with Benedicte Ginestous announcing each look's number in French and English. Called 'La Collection de Paris,' it was held at the label's new couture atelier in the Hotel de Senecterre.

Dedicated to Slimane's studio and atelier, the intimate affair featured models descending the building's dramatic central staircase and wandering about its downstairs rooms. It had 42 couture looks which were made using couture techniques in Saint Laurent's recently restored ateliers and was conceptualized as a counterpart to the men's Fall 2016 and women's Pre-Fall collections he showed in February in Los Angeles.
